A Beach Vacation Packing List for Guys
As we head into the warmer months, a lot of folks are heading to the coast. Whether you’re planning a beach vacation with your friends, with your family, or by yourself, we know packing can be overwhelming. No matter if you’re going to California, Florida, Hawaii, or any other beach destination in the world, you may be asking yourself the same questions. What do you pack for a beach vacation? How can you make sure to have all the beach trip essentials you’ll need?
Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Follow the guidelines we’re about to lay down and you’ll be all ready to lay out in the sun (or in the shade). We’ll even break it down into categories to make it more manageable.
What to pack for a beach vacation
Personal care items to pack
Don’t forget: Many stores sell travel sized versions of these items. You may not have to bring a month’s worth of shampoo, for example. You can also buy small containers to pour your liquid items, like shampoo and conditioner, into. If you’re taking a plane to your destination, you can only bring 3.4-ounce bottles of liquids, gels, etc. in your carry-on bag, so keep that in mind.
Stuff for your teeth. Pack your toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, and whatever else you use on your teeth daily.
Stuff for your skin. Don’t forget your soap or body wash, moisturizer, face wash, deodorant, shaving supplies, hand sanitizer, and bug repellent. You may want to bring those last two things to the beach with you, as well.
Stuff for your hair. Remember to pack your shampoo, conditioner, hairbrush and any styling products you use.
Stuff for your eyes. If you wear glasses or contacts, don’t forget your glasses, contacts, and contact solution. Also, don’t forget your sunglasses!
Other important items to pack for a beach trip
Stuff you’ll use at the beach. When it’s time to pack your beach bag, it’s essential to include sunscreen (SPF 30 minimum!), at least one towel, your swim trunks (or other swimwear for men), beach chairs, a cooler (and any food or drinks you’ll want to keep in it), water bottles, and a good book. Whatever you want to do at the beach, bring it in your bag. Makes sense, right?
Stuff for your health. Although many of us feel our best while we’re on vacation, you may still want to bring along painkillers and a first-aid kit just in case. Also, be sure to bring any medications you take daily, as well as any vitamins you take. Especially if you’re going abroad for your vacation, bring a list of the medications you take, too.
Stuff for your wallet. No matter where you’re going, don’t forget your ID. You’ll also want to bring cash, credit or debit cards, and insurance cards.
If you’re going abroad for your trip, don’t forget to bring your visa and/or passport, an emergency contacts list, and copies of any documents you’ll need to travel. If you’re going somewhere you’re unfamiliar with, you may want to go old-school and bring a map and a guidebook, just in case you find yourself in a place where you can’t use Google.
Electronic stuff.
Although you’ll be spending a lot of time at the beach, you’ll still need your phone and a phone charger. Also, if you’re spending time in a hotel or AirBnB, you may want to bring your laptop and a charger for that.
By the way, please don’t be that guy who brings a Bluetooth speaker to the beach. A lot of people go there to listen to the waves and the other sounds of nature. If you really want to listen to your music on the beach, bring headphones. Everyone will thank you.
Best swim trunks to bring to the beach
So now you know what to pack for a beach trip. But let’s briefly go back to something we touched on earlier: swimwear for men. Not all swim trunks are optimal for a beach trip, but Leo’s are, and we’ll break down exactly why that is.
First of all, Leo’s swim trunks are made of special, quick-dry fabric. Instead of getting waterlogged, you’ll find that your swim trunks dry off quickly after you get out of the water, which makes them perfect for a day at the beach.
Leo’s swim trunks also have a built-in mesh lining that’s comfortable, supportive, and will keep you feeling good the whole time you’re at the beach. They’re so comfortable, you may even want to wear them as daily casual shorts when you get home.
What’s more, Leo’s swim trunks come with a matching bag for storage. This helps us reduce the amount of scrap fabric we produce, plus it helps you store your swim trunks conveniently. That’s a win-win! But reducing scrap fabric isn’t the only way we’re helping the environment. Some of our swim trunks are made out of eco-friendly materials so that you can help us help the planet just by wearing them.
The next time you’re traveling to the beach, make your trip easier and less stressful by following this helpful guide for what to pack for a beach vacation. You’ll thank us later when you’re chilling in paradise, stocked up with everything you need to have a good time.
